Excel not updating Access linked data

I am using Excel 2007. I set up a connection to Access using the Data Ribbon >>> Get External Data >>> From Access
The data was imported successfully, however, when I change or overwrite the Access source file (I keep them in the same location with same filename), and I clicked Refresh All, the data in Excel is not updating.

I remember I did it once few months back and it worked. I am doing exactly the same procedure and it's not working now.

Appreciate if anyone can give me some suggestion.

When you change the source file how? If you overwrite it I can understand the connection being lost, but not if you just edit the data.

Usually it's done the other way..export your results from Access to Excel. It's possible Excel's 'link' detects that it is NOT the same db (different GUID) but that is a long shot.
Any way you can just export from Access to the same file name each time?
