Need Count Formula

I am looking for count formula which result will be like below...

Companyname Count
HP 1
Infosys 1
IBM 1
HP 2
HP 3
IBM 2

Hi,

With your data in Cell A2 down, paste this formula in to B2 and drag down:

=COUNTIF(A$2:A2,A2)

Should do the trick!

Thank for your reply but still i am not getting the result what I am looking for... I want company count without grouping them as one. Like if the company "HP" is repeated 10 times in column "A" then result should be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 in column "B". I hope I will receive best result from your end.
