Hello All,
This is my first time posting, so I'll apologize ahead of time if I'm inadvertantly breaking any posting rules!
I use Access extensively for housing and modifying data, which I ultimately bring into Excel Pivot Tables as an external data source. This became a problem after I upgraded to Office 2013, which I needed to do to put an Access DB on our SharePont site.
I was getting the "Wait while Microsoft is configuring Office 2013" each time I opened Access. I researched this and found out it was because I still had Office 2010 components installed. I removed them and it solved that issue. However, I then lost my ability to connect to Access as an external datasource for an Excel Pivot Table. Researching this led me to the current solution of installing the Access 2010 Database drivers, which fixed my connection issue, but Office configures every time I open Access again! Ahhh!
I will say that I can connect to an Access database remotely if I go through Data-From Other Sources-Data Connection Wizard. However, this is a different connection type, so I cannot just change my Pivot Tables by "Changing Data Source". I'd rather not have to rebuild all of the report I've created, but this configuration process each time I open Access is driving me crazy and causing other issues. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Grimnebulin
