Access query takes >30 minutes to refresh in Excel

Hi all,

As the title says I have a query in Access that needs to be refreshed daily in an Excel report; however, it takes nearly 40 minutes for the query to refresh.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do? What information can I provide to come to a solution?

I'm not sure how to properly format an SQL query in here but if someone directs me to SQL formatting I can insert the query design.

it depends. My client had EVERY cell as a link to the db and it took 2 hrs.
You should have 1 query to pull data , then run CopyToRecordset to paste the data.

How are you pulling data?

We import the Access query into Excel using Data>From Access, is that what you mean?

I'm not very familiar with the CopyToRecordset action, is that something you do in the Access database?
