    Access Certification Date Tracker

Hello I work for a nursing agency and I was tasked with creating a way for my boss to keep track of the certification that the nurses must have in order to work. There are a total of 15 certifications and four nurses. Each certification expires in either a year or a half of a year. Each certification was received at a different time. For example, employee A received certification XYZ 12-1-17 and employee B received it 11-30-17. My boss would like to get an email reminder when those certifications are within 45 days of expiration. Any ideas on how to set up the database to do this?

    Re: Access Certification Date Tracker

Hi cfitz and welcome to the forum,

Outlook has a recurring schedule reminder that sends email. I'd be learning Outlook for this problem instead of Excel??

Hey Marvin thanks for taking the time to read my post. I understand how to set up reminders in outlook. I am asking how build that information into an access database.

Access is a wonderful database product but it has a steep learning curve. It sounds like your problem is more of an Outlook scheduling problem. Access is also not widely owned or used as Excel is much more prominent in the world. I've built a few Access applications that were not accepted as people (managers?) didn't want to pay the extra price or learn how to use my apps.

Have fun learning and using Access.
