    Access Store Data, Upload later

    Hi Again,

We currently have our DB split between a Front and Back end as you might expect, unfortunately we have a few tablet users who occasionally receive a 'network interruption error' which is literally caused by then wandering out of range from the wi-fi hotspots we have dotted around the building. (IT have assured me there aren't any black spots, and the tablets are working fine, but after testing we only get the error after walking a certain distance from the hotpot), and the only way of fixing this seems to be re-starting the application (so losing anything recently recorded) -- is there a way of re-establishing the connection?

I was wondering if it would be possible, and if so the best method of achieving a system of storing the data locally, and then uploading to the back-end at a later time?

instead of live data, you could build daily reports (either pdf, or excel)

I did this for a manufacturer to see data on non PCs.
basically files on a server, in their folders by DEPT, MONTH, then all files for every date.
    DEPT A
    2018-10-Oct
    2018-11-Nov
    etc...

    DEPT B
    etc...

they could then view quickly without Access loading.

    Hi Ranman,

I love the idea, and it will be really useful for another project that's coming up, for this one though I'm not entirely sure this will be all that helpful.

the data being collected by the tablet users needs to be added to that of desktop users, so that our daily/weekly/monthly reporting can be run. I think we still might have the same situation with the 'disconnections' if the tablet users are writing to a fileshare or the Db.
