Export Access Query to Excel Range

    Good afternoon everyone.

I am very new to Access and am running into 2 issues that I need help with.

    1) When I load an Access DB into an existing spreadsheet, that we use to recap other data, it overwrites all the data on the tab, leaving everything else blank. Is there a way to only load the data into the section that I want without removing all the other data?

    2) Can I use a cell reference to filter my new data from the Access DB? So if one of my columns is STATE, can I use a cell reference in cell A1 that shows "Virginia" and have it filter that way?

    Thanks for the help!

    Chris

    1. I'm not sure I have a clear picture of what you are trying to demonstrate. But how a bout highlilghting your data in Access (Ctl + C) and then copying it into Excel (Ctl + V) *select the Excel cell where you want to put it first. You may have an issue with Word Wrap with the data in Excel. Leave the Range highlighted in Excel then[ Home / cells / Format / Format Cells - then on the Align Tab, unCheck Wrap text ~ this will unWrap the text. 2. You can create a filter on the new data (note: excel will only allow 1 filter on each tab).
....Please let me know if this helps...give reputation. (it may help to further describe how you get the data from Access to Excel )

re: Export Access Query to Excel Range

The problem with Copy and Paste is I have 15 workbooks, each with between 8 and 16 tabs to do this on. All the other data is pulled vlookup, so changing cell A1 works great pulling different data.

I get to access from Data/Get data/From Microsoft access database.

So I just discovered that its not deleting the rest of the info on the tab, but it always inserts the Access table on the left of where I want it to go, even if I tell it to go in cell A55, just puts in in Column a and moves everything right

    welcome to the forum

I have changed your thread title this time to comply with forum rules.

For future reference, please take a moment to read the forum rules and use thread titles that are descriptive of your problem - not what you think the answer might be. (think google search terms?).

Many members search our previous posts, and thread titles play a big part of the search. I doubt anybody would do a search based on your title?
