Summit or update into SQL Dabatase from Excel

    Hi Guys,

We used to work with a local Access Database, but a few months ago i decided to migrate the database into SQL Server, and still using MS Access to make changes but for some reason when we trying to use the Access import tool to get new data from a Excel, the cells format are corrupted every certain time.

We are importing data from an Excel file, because the persons who are doing this, they don't have the knowledge to use the Import and Export tool from SQL.

I have not much experience coding in VBA, i know up a little and i've trying to modify a template i found on internet but when i click the button "Export" i got the error: "the source range does not contain required headers".

I've been thinking on this solution, 'cause this could be useful for them to upload new data into the database. Plugins or add-ins are very expensive and we can not pay for it.

Could any one of you please help me with the error mentioned above? I really appreciate the help.

    Thank you

Access can confuse Excel fields as numeric when they are actually text , and the like.
you can keep using Access, (the easiest method) to import the XL data using a query.

I correct the excel book before the import using a macro to convert the fields to text.
    then the query works perfectly.

I run a test with the "Text to Column" option in excel, one by one, 'cause excel does not allow do that with more than one column at a time. Then i did the import in Access and i worked. Then i created a macro in order to let excel do the Text to Column by it self in a few seconds.

Thanks for your comment and it really help me a lot converting the fields to text.

    Regards
