    Access to Excel

    Hello,

I have large database near to 20MB to process and compute. Because of huge data the Excel is becoming deadly slow and gets hanged in between.
So was thinking to create an external source to store database and call the parameter from that for my computation.

I tried creating on Access but not able to find any support to connect the database from Access to my computation.
I tried importing the database in Excel from Acces but that looked more slly and difficult to proceed.

So is it possible to lookup the values in Access matching multiple condition set in excel and pull them in our formulas?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Access to Excel

Without seeing your data this is a bit difficult (the forum rules tells you to upload an example, with solution) Have you tried FILTERing the data. If your data is in excel and you are at that large of file 20MB - you should consider Access which handles large amounts of data better than excel. Again, sight unseen, it's difficult to assist you - you know your data, unfortunately US on the other side have no idea what things look like. Perhaps you need to pair down the data anyways? [if you're in access, you can create queries (which will limit your data) and then export the query to excel if you need to work on it there] Good luch

    Re: Access to Excel

I'm not completely sure I follow your issue but, if you have a large database (in excel?) you can link the database by going onto the external data tab and click on excel then use link to the data source by creating a linked table. You can then use Access to lookup the values in the excel set and put them into formulas.
