    Dlookup Issues

So i need help getting a DLookup working.

    What I need Help with:

On the Inventory Log Entry Form

Employee Barcode Text Box will be either manually entered or filled with a barcode scanner.
I need the Employee's Last and First name Automatically filled in the Text Fields above employee barcode text box.
This information should be pulled from the EBarcodeTable.

Thank you in advance if you can assist me with this!

    Re: Dlookup Issues

I believe your issue is you are trying to have a form bound to more than one table. To do this, you need to have a master form and then sub forms that link to the other tables. You do need to have primary and foreign keys so that the sub forms link properly to the main form. I apologize for the earlier offer as I did not study your form closely enough to realize what was happening. You need to rethink your form design and possibly your tables.

    Re: Dlookup Issues

I have, and it is working properly now. Also, i believe the issue i was having was that i wasnt using [ ]. The tutorials i had watched were for later versions of access which dont require them. Per your suggestion i have given it all a good makeover. This is my first attempt at something like this..as i have been thrust into this position at work with ZERO database knowledge lol.. i really appreciate your help.

    Re: Dlookup Issues

Here is a white paper that should help you and a link to a tutorial for starting to build Access DBs. It is a steep curve but one that is beneficial.

and attached. Good Luck and post back with any issues you may have.
