    Dropdown menu...

hi im near finishing my project.... im in my last step.... making a drop down menu "but" automatically the full information will appear.. i know now how to make the drop down menu...

example in the drop down theres 5 name, namely, A,B,C,D, and E..... when i select name A all the information in the field about A will appear in the form...

Question: what do you call that kind of command? i know its possible because ive seen 1 in ms access.. he just put the ID number and all the information appeared in the table.. or if you have any link in the step by step guide pls do...

    thanks in advance...

Use VLOOKUP combined with Data Validation. See the example here
    Hope that helps.

Look at the three videos on DataPig on combo boxes. You will have to scroll down a bit.

DataPig has not issued a 2007 version of its videos. The same principles apply. You will have to convert the steps to open certain windows by using the 2007 Ribbon versus the 2000 tabs. If you are unsure of how to do that, download this cheat sheet.

The differences are minor and should not affect how you achieve your goals.

This is the Access Tables and Database thread.

What would be best is for him to Learn some ADO/SQL and use the selection from the combo box to select the record and populate the fields from the data stored.

    Something like below:
