Import Excel Data to Find Match in Access Table

I have an Excel spreadsheet with invoice numbers and am trying to import into Access database to match invoice numbers located in a table in Access. After importing my data into a table in Access I want to match those numbers to an existing table and bring back additional information located in the Access Tables. For instance I have a query which gives me invoice numbers and the total amount billed to the invoice number. I want to identify also if the invoice numbers are missing from my Access table. I realize I'm not giving a lot of information here. I hope someone will understand and give me some general guidance.

    Thanks.

You don't need to import the data, you could just link it. Then create the query matching the feilds.

What level of Access knowledge do you have? Do you know how to do the above?

If you've got that far you can then pull whatever feilds you like from either the db or spreadsheet.

To find the missing records the easiest thing to do is run the query wizard on unmatched records.

*I do not have much working knowledge. Do you happen to have an example of how to do this, where do I link the database and how do I do unmatched queries.

This would be very helpful for a project I will be working on where I take a dataset from excel and do a daily comparison on the data as it changes from day to day.

For example, I export a dataset from SAP on Day 1. On day 2 I export another dataset and need to identify each day what values in the dataset changed.

Please help with any information you may have on how to perform the above. It would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I have a little more knowledge now. I linked the tables and did an unmatched query on the invoice number field and it worked.
