Gen 5 Database Structure.jpg
I have built a dashboard in excel that uses access as a data reservoir in order to build a dashboard larger than excel can handle with the structure shown in the image. The X month(s) refers to windows of 1, 3, and 12 months in order to evaluate the data in differing intervals. So my question is how would I perform my monthly updates on this structure.
What I know:
I append the raw data for all months with the most recent month's data.
I update all 3 sets of windows to throw out the oldest month and add in the newest month.
What I dont know:
Does access understand the dependencies that are shown in the flow chart? Basically after I update the first tier (raw data and windows) can i skip to the queries that calculate the opportunity and fill the tables of the bottom tier?
If not I can manually go through and update each of these tables but would there be a faster way and if so how?
I am relatively new to access so I don't know what I don't know, you know?
Please advise,
