Acess Report the shows data across then down

Kind of hard to define this in a title. The short of it is I need to display data from a query with the records going across 3 columns before starting the next row. The data is seperated by a grouping system. so for example if the query has the data:
group records
---------+-----------------
groupA | rec1
groupA | rec2
groupA | rec3
groupA | rec4
groupA | rec5
groupB | rec9
groupB | rec10
groupB | rec11

I would like the report to show the data like this:

groupA
|rec1 |rec2 |rec3
|rec4 |rec5 |
------------------------------------
groupB
|rec9 |rec10 |rec11
------------------------------------

I have done this in a form by using a mod trick, but hoping not to have to code that again.

Must retract this... Got it to work with a subreport, and forgot that the column settings has the across then down.
