Reference Line Percentage tolerance

Hi,

I have a X, Y, chart that has a reference line generated from a range of cell values. when I input a second range of values, I would like to display a pass/fail message box if this second range is within or exceeds 10 percent of the reference line.
Can this be done with VBA or is there another way of doing it?
I only have a basic knowledge of excel so I may need walking through this.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the example, I think this is what I'm looking for. My chart is quite complex but I think I can apply the same principles to it as you have demonstrated, I'll let you know how I get on.
