Scatter plot data points as text not standard blue squares?

Is there any way to make a scatter plot's data points reference and show as text from another cell? Not the actual value of the point but just the label? As opposed to the text being next the the point, i want the point to be text itself.

This procedure should be a start for you (http://www.exceldashboardtemplates.c...hboard-charts/) Replace picture or clip art with a text box containing the desired text.

The additional challenge will be to link the text in a cell to the text in the text box (or boxes) and then have that link through to the custom marker box.
