Displaying Multiple Data Series in Bar Chart

    Hi Excel users,

I can't seem to figure this one out. I have a bar chart with two data series of the same type and format. I need a way to display them on the same axis, however displaying one complete data series first, followed by the other, instead of the standard format of mixing the data (displaying data piece 1 of data series 1, then data piece 1 of data series 2, followed by data piece 2 of data series 1, then data piece 2 of data series 2, ect...).

I attached a sample workbook to demonstrate.

    Thanks for the help!

The simplest way is just to put two graphs, side by side. However, your do need to add an =na() in the blank cell in Range 2 to force Execl to keep the same X-axis range.

You can reference noncontiguous ranges. For the Ranges2 you will need to select empty range.

    The format overlap to 100

@Glenn - thanks for the response. I did think of just using separate charts but I wanted to keep it as clean and light as possible.

@Andy - thanks for the response. That's just what I was looking for.

Andy's suggestion looks good to me. If that's it, can you mark the thread as solved?
