Time and date graph

Hello i am having a hard time understanding what excel is trying to do, i would like to plot this temperature data on a time and day scale. Its supposed to look like a sinusoid based on the data. Can someone point me in the right direction as far as graphing this correctly?

Right click the dates in the X axis and select "Format Axis". In the dialogue box that shows up chose "Text Axis" then close the dialogue box.
