Is there a way to plot a chart with different sets of data per column? (Example included)

Something like this:

I just changed the colors of the cells, but a chart would be ideal, since I'll be working with a lot of data points.

The point is to separtate a project on two levels, so you have A-C but within the letters there are subtasks.

I haven't been able to find anythink like this and was just wondering if anyone would have any ideas about how to go about making something like this, or if it is evel possible at all.

EDIT: Kind of like a gantt chart, which uses stacked bar chart, but not exactly the same

In many ways, your picture looks something like what he describes as a "Gantt chart", so you might follow some of the links to those discussions.
