Question Possible to use slicer to filter data from multiple columns in a pivot table?

    Hello,

I have a pivot table that I've applied slicers to. Three of the columns include identical drop lists. Any one of the items from the drop list may be in any of the three columns. Is it possible to make a slicer or equivalent way of presenting the data to include all instances of one of the drop list items?

    Let's say I have:

    2012 January AAA test1 test2 test3
    2013 February BBB test2
    2013 March AAA test2 test3

and I have a slicer and choose test2. I want it to include the 3 instances. I like the ease of use of slicers. Is there a way to do that with a slicer and if not, what is the best way to do it?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Robert

    Hi,

Can you please post a sample template of your workbook using "Go Advanced" option? You may choose to delete the confidential data in the file before upload, if any.

No you can't do that with a slicer, unless you change your source data so that those entries are all in one field.
