Is it possible to link purchase data to a master file of post code data in pivot tables

I have made a pivot table that has all the post codes for Australia and the different levels of area they belong to (city, state, market e.g.). I would like to use this with data from purchase history that lists the post code of the buyers. Is there a way I can make the data automatically group by post code and make it easier to view the different details in a pivot table so i don't have to manually group as new data is added? I'm sorry if this is poorly explained

Re: Is it possible to link purchase data to a master file of post code data in pivot table

So i have the Post Codes spread sheet that has all post codes next to different levels of markets. Each row is connected
I have data that i cannot post online so i'll explain the best i can. I have 10,000 transactions with more added each week. This data is separate and includes name, date, purchase, post code and other data. I am looking for the easiest way to drop new data into the masterfile tab each week so that the pivot table will automatically look like the screenshot i uploaded. Previously i have had to add the new data then manually group any new postcodes into the groups.

    Let me see:

    You have all possible postcodes

Your input are purchased orders and it is needed to group them by postalcode

Do you need the weekly column to be added automatically too?

Assuming that the weeks are identified by the first date (as a date) you could use the =sumifs() function to group by postal code and test the purchased order date to fit between weeks

    Thanks for your reply

The data needs to be able to be manipulated, the date purchased is needed because the data is about where and when things were purchased but the grouping of that is easily doable by hand. This also means that totals can be found when the the post codes are collapsed.
