Pivot table providing unrelated data when clicked on

    Hello,

I have a pivot table providing a count of a certain category of items, that i have specified by using a series of filters. E.G. There are 400 items in the data set, but only 235 items show up in the count since they apply to the filters.

When I double-click this number to further view the data (a new sheet containing the items is created), I receive a sheet that contains the items represented in the count, as well as other items outside of the filters. The count is correct, yet the data I am getting when I click on the count number includes items that shouldn't be included. Its driving me crazy.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    - J

I didn't even know you could do this.

Anyway after playing with it: it looks like it returns all the fields (columns) for all the records (rows) that contribute to the value you double click.

So are you clicking the for the column/row total for the filtered value, or a different one? Off-hand that might be why you're getting different records than you expected.

It's pretty handy. And 99% of the time it has worked for me. E.G. if 7 items show up in a total and I double click, I can look at those 7 items in detail.

This time however, I am getting something like 10 items, with the correct 7 items included.

I am clicking on the filtered value. Could be due to the reason you stated. I will take a look at it again.
