Pivot table not displaying data correctly

Hi

(Excel 2011)

I need to a pivot table to count number of days staff has been at certain locations.
I have a table with dates for rows and staff names as columns and location codes for location.
If I have only 1 name in the columns it looks fine, but as soon as I add more name, it only gives one count for all names for at each location.

Your data layout really doesn't suit a pivot table - you'd need three columns ideally (Date, Name, Location) and more rows.

For your current data you'd be better off with COUNTIF formulas.
