Charts created from access in excel, is it limited??

    Hi all

I have an excel workbook. I have started to link queries from an access database to each sheet in excel to generate a chart. I have 64 sheets with linked data from access that gives me charts. The whole process went fine until I wanted to create the 65th chart in the same manner as the previous 64 charts. I click on cell A1, click DATA, then From Access, select the path to the access database, click ok on the next window (Data Link...) and then nothing happens. It should open the window where I am supposed to select the query, but nothing.

Does any one have an idea of what the problem is??

    Please Help!

Ps: I am only half way through the queries. I must create about 160 of them.

    Hi SGT,

Backup your file, & try to add one of your links that you have linked previously with a new name.

Add the link exactly the same way as before, what happens?

If it gives you the same error, you probably have reached the limit but I'd ask Microsoft to be sure if they actually have a maximum.
Remember you are unique, like everyone else

    Hi noboffinme,

If I save the excel file and close it and open a blank workbook and try to add another link exactly the same way, I still can't create a link. It just does nothing. I don't know how to explain this to Microsoft. It just gives me an "Unspecified error" whatever that means.

OK, remove 2 of the files you currently have linked.

Now try to link a new file & test it.

    Now link another.

    What happens?

A computer is limited to 64 data connections. I think it has something to do with this. I have tried to remove a link and to add it again and it works so I think it's got something to do with the limited data connections.

    Thanx for replying.
