Empty values in pivot chart changed to zero after copy/paste

I have a series of measurements set up as a pivot table and pivot chart (line with markers). Some of the measurements are performed daily and some are not, so I have empty cells on some dates, which are fine and they are treated by "connect data point with line" under hidden and empty cell settings. The problem is when I try to copy and paste the pivot chart into another file as a chart object, the data which is embedded in the chart changes all the empty cells to zero and now the chart looks like this http://puu.sh/dA9BD/aeceec7034.png

Is there a way to fix this? I would prefer to be able to paste it as a chart object rather than static image so axis/title labels can be added and the chart can be easily scaled.

tyr this: in the copy menu, select "copy as picture" and paste as bitmap or else.

Thanks for your reply. I would like avoid pasting it as a static image because I want to still add or edit axis labels after pasting. Is it possible to paste it as a chart object?
