Select specific months in a 2 year period in Pivot Table

Hi,
I have monthly amount over a period of 2 years - 2011 and 2012. Now when I select amount, year from pivot table I get amount for all months of 2011, all months of 2012 and the total amount value of both years.

I want to see only monthly amounts from Oct 2011 to Sep 2012 and the total of these. Can anyone please help? (see attachment)

In Pivot Report Layout select Show in Tabular Form and de-select the non required months from the filter.

Change the Report Layout to Compact Form once the Months selection is over

I did that. But I want to select months 10, 11, 12 in year 2011 and months 1 to 9 in year 2012. It is not allowing me to do that. Whatever months I select applies to both years. ie. if I select months 10. 11, 12 in year 2011 the same gets applied to year 2012, I don't want this, I want to select different months in year 2012. Can anyone help?

Hi maverick and welcome to the forum,

I suggest you create real dates from your Year Month numbers and then do the Pivot using the new date column. You can then filter the rows using BETWEEN two dates.
