How to group values spread across columns in Pivot

    Gurus,

I am not able to figure out how to group values spread across the columns in Pivot table. My excel file has following columns:
    1) Market,
    2) Product 1 Sales,
    3) Product 2 Sales,
    4) Product 3 Sales,
    5) Product 1 Sale Date,
    6) Product 2 Sale Date,
    7) Product 3 Sale Date

I want monthly sales number across product line....so, following columns in output:
    1) Month & Year
    2) Sales across product line

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    ER

Re: How to group values spread across columns in Pivot

Here is an example of the excel file (with four product sales and dates columns):

    Market PR122 AX32 SAM12 MM22 PR122 AX32 SAM12 MM22
    Arizona $2,500 $2,000 $2,000 $1,200 10/21/2015 11/18/2015 12/9/2015 1/6/2016
    Georgia $1,500 $1,200 $3,000 $1,500 11/18/2015 12/16/2015 1/6/2016 1/3/2016
    Florida $1,700 $1,350 $2,000 $2,200 12/16/2015 1/13/2016 2/3/2016 3/2/2016
    Arizona $2,200 $1,200 $3,000 $2,800 1/13/2016 2/10/2016 3/2/2016 3/30/2016
    Florida $2,500 $1,000 $8,000 $3,200 1/20/2016 3/9/2016 3/30/2016 4/27/2016
    Kentucky $1,000 $800 $4,000 $3,000 3/9/2016 5/6/2016 4/27/2016 5/25/2016

Here is output I am looking for:

    Month Sales
    Oct-15 $2,500
    Nov-15 $3,500
    Dec-15 $4,900
    Jan-16 $11,750
    Feb-16 $3,200
    Mar-16 $18,000
    Apr-16 $7,200
    May-16 $3,800

You can't create that output in a pivot table with that data as the input. The data is already in a report format. You need a simple input table with columns for Market, Code, Value and Date. THAT is input you can use for a pivot table.
