Hi all,
By default excel will create Chart 1, Chart 2 & so on.
I would like to stop excel from doing so.
I am sure there will be multiple workarounds but I did not get one solution.
Any help will be appreciated. Cheers!!!!!

Hello,
You cannot stop Excel from naming the chart. Every chart has a name, so it can be identified when using code.
Excel creates "Chart 1" as the name for the first chart, and will then increment the number for each subsequent chart. You cannot change that.
What you CAN do is to rename the chart. The chart name is displayed in the name box next to the formula bar when the chart is selected. You can simply edit that name and provide a name of your choice.
Alternatively, you can create chats with VBA and assign a chart name in the macro. Jon Peltier has lots of VBA code for chart on his site. This page discusses creating charts with VBA.
