Monthly Headcount Change Stacked Column Waterfall

    Hello all,

Need some help that I've been spinning my tires on. I'm wanting to create a headcount change waterfall, by department, by month. Basically I want a separate stacked column waterfall for each department, for each month, that breaks down their hires and promotions (positive values) and terminations (negative values).

When I try to make a chart of it, I'm getting the Hires, Promotions, and Terminations broken out as separate columns, instead of stacked values. I've never done this kind of chart, so I'm not certain what I'm doing wrong. I have attached some dummy data, a copy of the chart as I have it now, and a "Desired Look' that gives a visual example of what I'm looking to do.

Any help anyone can give that would walk me through how to do this would be appreciated. I've looked over some other tutorials online, but they don't seem to be doing what I'm trying to do.

    Thanks!

If you stack the months on top of each other, the stacked bar chart should get you what you are looking for... however, the chart will get pretty busy as you progress throughout the year. I added an example using just the first quarter with the data you provided.

Thank you! I knew it was something simple that I was just not thinking of, but I had looked at it for about an hour and my brain wouldn't work. Thanks!
