Creating bar charts on a circle

    Hi!

I have a problem that I would really appreciate some help with.

I want to plot bar charts to display a couple of numbers at 5 different locations on this circle.

It should look something like this:
    \1
(hope you get the idea, I just made a quick drawing in powerpoint).

I want to make it like this to display the concentration inside a tank at these 5 locations for each cross section I am measuring for the one who is wondering

    Thanks in advance!

Re: Creating bar charts on a circle

Does the value denote the area of the bar or just it's height or width?
Does the position on the circle for any data value change or are they static?

Does it have to be a bar or could you use more circles?
    Cheers

"Does the value denote the area of the bar or just it's height or width?"
I would like that the value denote the height of the bar.

"Does the position on the circle for any data value change or are they static?"
I want to have these bar charts for several circles (several cross sections at different heights in the tube/cylinder).
The values can be kept static for each circle (the values I want to put there are averages)

"Does it have to be a bar or could you use more circles?"
I'd rather not use circles when it comes to denote the area for example, wouldn't make sense in this case.
I don't know how I'd use circles if not for that reason, if there's another potential use, let me know

Not sure if this is accurate enough for your needs.

Circle is a single data point pie chart.
columns are created using stacked column chart.

    Hey again!

Thanks a lot for the input!
You have a good start there but I'm still struggling to get it right.
I was changing your version a bit and had a few problems:
    - I can't make the border more clear (since the program marks not only the border of the circle but also a line to the center) (see second picture)
    - The scale of the diagram and the circle. Since I will have no values bigger than 10 as it seems I was thinking to have a layer size of 10. I changed this but then I don't know how to change the scale of the axis. I don't really know how you've made LAYER = 25 by writing that in the cell.
    - I think I will skip the legend and make it on my own in powerpoint after realising it gets messy to add a separate legend for every point (I would use 0 degrees, 90 degrees etc..).
    - I don't know how to attach an excel file to this thread. I saw I was supposed to look for a browse button but I can't find it.

Another alternative I have which might be the best one is to use a contour plot but then I need a circular contour plot, how can I make that in excel?
(I have only seen quadratic/rectangular ones so far)

    Thanks in advance!

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

Re: Creating bar charts on a circle

If you create a circle shape and format as required you can copy and paste as the fill of the pie chart.

Layer is a named range. You can use the Name Manger button on the Formulas tab of the ribbon.

If you alter the layer value you will also need to alter the vertical scale of the chart to suit.
