Replace numbers on x-axis of scatter chart with text

    Hey Guy´s, how´s it going.

I´m now writing from Bogota, Colombia where it´s probably a little sunnier than the UK! i´m settling in nicely, the weather and the food are great, not to mention the hot girls and salsa!

One thing which is not going so well is a little confusion I have with replacing numbers on x-axis of scatter chart with text , the first places I turned to were Andy and Jon´s websites but I couldn't really work it out. If someone could help me out that would be terrific.

I´ve attached my workbook to show what I´m trying to achieve but basically i´d like the horizontal access to read the months of the year and not be a number.

    Muchas gracias for any help.

    Cheers

If you use real dates for the horizontal axis you can use a line chart with custom number format to display months.

Notice the trendline R value is different when using dates to simple linear increment of category.

Hey Andy, how's it going? hope that you are well.

Many thanks for the upload, very kind of you. Quick question though... how did you remove the line from the line graph and just leave the markers so it looks like a scatter graph?

    Cheers dude

Format line and set Line Style to None.

Hope all is well over there.
