I have a large excel spreadsheet which tracks results by person and by type of person. I need to be able to provide each person with a report that compares that person's results to the average results for his/her position. I currently have a very clunky set-up using database functions, which gets the job done, but I'm hoping to find a sleeker approach using pivot tables. My data table is set up so that each piece (row) of data is tagged in a variety of ways (i.e. columns with different organizing notes), and I am hoping to be able to use a pivot table to generate a table pulling the data that I need and comparing it in the ways that I need. Pie in the sky, right?!
I am attaching a very simple example of what I need, but there is of course more complexity in the real thing. I have played around with the tables a bunch, but I can't seem to find a way to compare one specific example to the whole. Maybe it's impossible, but many, many thanks to anyone who can help!
