Can't Edit or Delete Custom Pivot Table Styles

I've searched for hours now and still have no answer to this problem.

You can right click on a custom pivot table style and select, 'Modify', 'Duplicate' and 'Delete'. I have no pivot tables using the particular cusom style. Selecting 'Modify' does nothing and doesn't invoke the create custom style window to allow for editing. Delete shows a pop up window asking if you want to delete the style, selecting 'Yes' does not delete the custom style and 'Duplciate' works. The problem as many people have pointed out is that you can't view your custom style until you click ok, but if you want to tweak it further you can't, you end up having to create another custome style from scratch which is a complete pain because you end up with loads of custom styles you don't want, can't delete and can't edit.

Is this a known bug or is there any way around this problem.

    Many thanks

Re: Can't Edit or Delete Custom Pivot Table Styles

    Hi HangMan.

I am using MS-Office 2013 and I don't see "Modify", "Duplicate" and "Delete" options instead I can see "New Pivot Table Style" & "Clear" in right bottom of PivotTable Styles. Also, When I take cursor on any Custom Pivot Table Styles, it shows the preview without clicking on it...I also tried making new custom style and I am able to do that too....Don't know if it is bug in 2010 as I can see you are using Excel 2010.

    Hi Anil,

No, same problem in 2013 as well. If you right click on a custom style, i.e. One you create you should see the delete and modify options. Basically neither option actually work or do anything...

Re: Can't Edit or Delete Custom Pivot Table Styles

I had the same problem, spent time looking for a solution and finally I found on internet a person saying that solved it unprotecting the sheets of the workbook. I have looked for a hidden sheets in my workbook and yes, there was a hidden sheet that was protected!

Unprotecting my hidden sheet enabled me to modify and delete pivot styles again!
