How to make a graph with the 1st of every year on x-axsis.

    Hallo out there

I really need som help with making a graph. I have a lot of data for multiple year (stock prices and a date). I cannot make a graph showing the 1. of Jan. year. I believe many have had the same problem as I. Can anybody help me?

Also, is you could explain how such a graph could be made showing the 1. of every month. That would also be really great!

Thank you in advance for your reply :-)!

Here is a quick cheap and nasty way, using a helper column.

Put this in C2, and copy down...
    =IF(DAY(A2)=1,B2,"")
Then, if you want to keep that graph you already have, click on it and copy (CTRL C), click below and paste (CTRL P), then change the series range from column B to column C

    Hi,

If you had a January 1st date in each year it would be easier. See if the attached Pivot Chart using a January filter and showing the Average of January gets closer to what you need.

Your graph uses a "date" axis. My first thought would be to go into the axis formatting options dialog and adjust those parameters. You can adjust the major axis to be months or years, then have the axis minimum be 1-jan-09 to get the axis to be divided by the 1st of each year. You can do a similar thing to get the axis divided at the first of each month.
