    Pivot Table fix Grand Total

    Hi all,

After long time I am back to EF.

I want to make pivot report in such a way that my boss will always view Grand total as a fix column.

    What I am saying is:

I have 5 years of data & I want user to view couple of years performance with fix grand total.

I have attached excel file with output as image. I hope I don't sound dumb.

    Regards,

    Hi Richard,

    Appreciate your quick response.

I want Grand total to show all the years sales even if I select couple of years say (2001 & 2002)

    Regards,

    Hi,

I could do this by adding Grand Total into the source data, see the attached file.

    Hi cbatrody,

Thanks for your effort. Nice trick but it is not fixed solution.

What in case the columns expand?

I guess I am not asking too much.

    AM

    Mmm.

That's not the way PTs work. You could choose to show all years and then just hide the columns you don't want to see.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late response!

If the number of rows increase, you can update the Grand Total formula at the top so that you can add more rows at the end as and when the data changes. However, as Richard said you could choose to show all years and hide the columns you don't want to see.

It is possible to populate the Grand Total column like that in PowerPivot.
There you can create a Calculated Field by using the following formula.....
