    Sorting Pivot Table Data

I am trying to get my pivot table to sort by a data column. I want it to sort so the highest number is at the top, but no matter what I do, it always sorts by the first Row column.

Is there a way to sort it by the data column? I've tried a custom sort and a normal sort.

Click a value in the data column, after that choose for sort.

    Re: Sorting Pivot Table Data

Thank you both, but yes. I have tried to click on different columns in the data field. I was able to get it to sort by right-clicking in the first column of the rows section, selecting sort and then more sort options. From here I was able to sort by the data field that I wanted to sort by.

    Re: Sorting Pivot Table Data

After you click the sorting filter choose more sort options and try sorting Z-A by whatever the value you want it to sort by. Then click more options and click sort by and click the first cell that has the value you want to sort by and that should do it.
