Radar Chart - series chart type conversion issues

Hello all,

I presume radar charts aren't very common, so I'd be interested to hear some feedback on what could be happening here:

Long story short, I created range colour scheme for my chart. The only way this can be done is to make the chart points be "lines" and not "fill". However, when it gets to the actual points I want to plot on the chart, I need the data to be "fill" instead of line. When I select the "stats" data series it gives me the option of changing the data series chart type. When I select "fill", it goes wonky and adds 1 more "invisible" dimension somehow that I can't seem to find diagnose or find. It changes the radar from the correct pentagon to a hexagon.
