Connect multiple pivots (with multiple data sources) to one slicer

    Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to connect multiple pivots with multiple data sources to one slicer?

I know that it is possible to use the "report connection" option in a slicer to link multiple pivot graphs to one slicer, however this data is then from ONE pivot table. Therefore I was wondering if it is possible to make a connection between multiple pivots with multiple data sources to one slicer.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Rg,

    Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen!
In Slicer setting > Report Connection.

Right click Slicer and select Report Connection

You can select multiple Pivot table for single Slicer..

    Hi Debraj Roy,

Thank you for your message. This is explanation that you are giving me is the thing that I have already tried and what I wanted to make clear with my question.

If I do this the report connection will only give me 4 charts because these charts are connected to the same pivot table. I have however 4 pivot tables with in total 7 pivot charts. I want to connect my slicer from the pivot charts with data from pivot table 1 also with the other pivot charts with data sources pivot table 2,3 and 4.

Do you get my question? Hope you can still help me.

    Cheer, J

    Hi All,

In the attachment you can find the problem that I am facing. I made a simulation of the two pivots that I want to connect with a slicer. Does anyone know if there is a possibility to connect to pivot graphs with two different pivot tables?

    Let me know.

    Cheers, J

you need to establish a relationship on a primary key.
In the case of your data I concatenated year_week and store. once you do that follow these steps to create a relationship between your tables.

    1. choose format as table on the home tab
    2. choose relationships on the data tab and join on the key you created.
    3. create your pivot tables and charts and add them to your data model.
    4. insert a slicer, right click and choose report connections.
