Re: 100% stacked bar chart + line chart

not sure how you managed to get a picture of the chart only

anyways i replicated it with a 100% stacked + xy scatter chart
its a bit hard to explain in words though

add 100% stacked chart as you do normally for the data area a1:D5

add additional series for the avg
select that series and then change the chart type to xy-scatter
fix the axis so your X is displayed at the top
change the min to 1 and max to 15 and major as 1
for the Y axis change the min to 0.5 and max to 4.5 major as 1

    format the X-y series
change the marker option to dot and line color to solid fill
    Attached Files Attached Files

Re: 100% stacked bar chart + line chart

Hi there, I used your methodology for this chart - just what I needed! - but my markers are showing above the bars instead of on top of the bars. I copied your chart into my spreadsheet and simply changed the data sources. I've checked all the background settings, everything I can think of, but no joy. Any suggestions?

More info: I tried plugging my data directly into your file. Worked fine. Next, I tried appending three more rows of data into your chart and extending the data source to include those. The bars worked fine. For the scatter plot, the minute I extended the data source to include the additional rows, the markers began plotting above the bars instead of on the bars. Only four values are plotting even though the x and Y value ranges have been extended to row 8.

More info #2: I returned to your original chart and discovered and simultaneously remembered that you used an average formula for the scatter chart. I'm trying to plot a value. Nonetheless, if I try to append so much as a single row of data to your original dataset and include that additional row in the chart, the markers do not adjust appropriately; they shift upwards, only four are visible, and the 5th is outside the plot area and not visible...the line extends to and beyond the top of the chart.
