Plot data based on a cells contents

I have a graph with 4 different data series that make up monthly data, I need one of the series to start plotting data based on a cell where I enter a date. The idea is that each month I can change the date so that I dont have any overlapping data.

in the graph I posted, the first data point on the black line is what I want tied to a cell where I enter a date.

A picture is not much to go on. A sample spreadsheet would help us help you.

What chart type: line (date axis) or XY scatter? My first impression would be line with date axis, but I would want to be sure.

Is your question specifically about how to add another data series to the chart, or is it more about how to calculate the data for the black data series in the spreadsheet before adding it to the chart?
