Hello,
I need to create a pivot table showing whether or not customers used various types of promotions during specific fiscal quarters. My Column headers are the quarters and my rows are to be the types of promotions. I have made sure that every column in the source data has a header. The Fiscal Quarters are showing up just fine across the top as columns - their labels show exactly as they do in the source data.
However, the rows, which are supposed to be a series of promotion names do not show the correct row labels. Let's say one of the discounts is Bundling, another is Renewal, and one is Bulk. Each of these promotions has a column in the source data with the name of each promotion as the column header. The data under each row is just a Y or a N, indicating whether or not that promotion was used. These promotions columns are formatted as General. When I select these three items in the Field table list and move them to Rows, I would expect a new row to show up with each of these names (which is how they appear in the field list). But, instead, I get this:
Row labels: (dashes added to indicate indentation. I inserted manual spaces, but once I posted this thread, they all aligned left.
N
-N
--N
--Y
-Y
--N
Y
-N
--N
Unfortunately, I cannot provide a copy of the sheet because it contains confidential company information. A couple other odd bits of info: If I hover over any of these N's or Y's, they show the correct row label in parenthesis - so if I hover over that first N, I see N(Bundling). When I follow Microsoft's online instructions for changing the row label names, the dialogue box that comes up shows the correct name already in place. Any ideas?
