Pivot Table Data Not Refreshing from Named Table

    Good day everyone,
I am using Excel 2010 and have created a named Table off of which I have made a pivot table and a chart. When I add a new line of data at the bottom of the Table, it is being added to the Table range just fine. I tested this by selecting the table range name and all the data (new line included) was automatically selected. However, that new line of data is not showing up in my pivot table or chart. I checked the data source for the pivot table and it points back to the named Table. What could be the issue?

    Thank you in advance!

    Seth

I was trying to attach a copy of the file in question, but it's been a long time since I've been on this site and I can't seem to recall where the attach function is. If someone could kindly point it out, I'd appreciate it!

    Hi Seth,

Pivot Tables don't get refreshed automatically. If you click on the Pivot and then from the Pivot menu click "Refresh All" does it refresh? If it does then you will need to somehow trigger this refresh event to happen.

I do this by adding a VBA Event to trigger the code of Application.RefreshAll and put it on something that I know will happen after I add new data. See if this example workbook answers your question using this code:

Marvin, that was was the issue; I thought that if the pivot was linked to the named range it would update upon saving.

    Thank you!
