Create Dynamic Chart when data is not ordered in Columns

    Hi Everyone,

I'm a first time poster but a frequent reader.

I have a question regarding creating dynamic charts. I have created dynamic charts using the offset formula. However, now I've I got a problem since I want to use it on time series data.

The data is structured as following:
    Fruit 2014 2015
    Orange 100 110
    Apples 55 70

And I would like the graph to be able to handle more fruits being added, how do i do this?

You get better result on your question if you add a small excel file, without confidential information.

Please also add the expected results manualy in your file.
Notice my main language is not English.

Thank you for the swift answer.

The issue is that the attach option doesn't seem to be working for some reason...

It might be temporary so I'll try again later today

Re: Create Dynamic Chart when data is not ordered in Columns

    Thank you, now I managed

First is the data that i want to make a dynamic graph from. Below it is how i made it previously. Since this is a simpler data set, it was rather easy.

On the second data set i want to be able to just add or remove a series and the graph would update accordingly.

    Thanks for helping out.

Re: Create Dynamic Chart when data is not ordered in Columns

    See the sheet output

I made a table of the data => insert=> data

All data that are filled in the row below the table, will automatic be in the table (the table automatic expands).

After that you make a pivot table or pivot graph.

    Inserts => pivot graph

After you added new data you refresh the pivottable or pivotgraph => data => refresh all

All new data is automatic in the pivottable and pivotgraph.

    See the attached file.

Re: Create Dynamic Chart when data is not ordered in Columns

    Thank you!

I don't know if this solution will work, since the output graph will be exported vi a macro to a PPT slide. And the indata is not there manually but it is changing depending on the what fruit basket we chose to have. So the table function will not work I'm afraid, it will need to be some sort of offset use for the datarange.

Is it possible to do so?

you have to tell the forummembers how the data (Input) is generated, otherwise there can't be offered a working solution.

Re: Create Dynamic Chart when data is not ordered in Columns

    Sorry about that.

But to give as precis of a picture as possible. There is a data table sheet that has each fruit and all the data that is connected to that fruit. Then a fruit is selected in a second sheet, this fruit is then paired up with 3-5 other fruits, depending on what the fruit basket will look like. For the fruit basket a range of different graphs are then created (two examples are the one from the attached work book). These graphs are then exported via a macro to ppt book.

The issue that I'm trying to resolve is that the fruit baskets will range in size from 4-6 fruits. This means that if I don't use dynamic graphs, there will be empty series in the graphs that are exported.

I managed to solve the issue when it came to the first problem that you can see in the work book. However, my question is if it is possible to do a similar solution as the first graph, with the data ordered in the same fashion?

    Best Regards
