    Field list not showing up when I try to do a pivot table

    I have Excel 2007 running on Windows 10. I use pivot tables a lot in my work. I tried to do a pivot table today, highlighted the data, clicked insert pivot table, get a new sheet, as I always do, but the data list is missing. It's not populated. Have not been able to figure out what to do. I can send my data to my wife's computer and can get a pivot table without any problem. The pivot table function has worked fine until today.

    Hi NJtrout,

    What happens if you create the Pivot on the same page as the source data?

    Are you saying that absolutely No fields appear?

    Not sure how to do the pivot table on the same worksheet. I just do it on a new worksheet. No fields appear - ie there is nothing to drag and drop.

    Have a look at the attachment, you can select a Cell in the same worksheet by clicking on the applet
    (square thing to the left of the dialogue box that says
    'Choose where you want the Pivot report to be placed'
