Excel pivot table drop down showing dates as $ instead of as dates

I have an issue where by my pivot table is showing dates in the drop down and $. However, my source data is in the date format and once i select a date (in $ format) it will then display as a date, but only on the drop down will it show up as a $.

Any idea what could be the issue or fix?

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
