Analyzing month to month change with pivot table

Essentially, I have a big dataset that includes a great deal of extraneous information however, I want to pivot out specific information and be able to track the month to month change. My information consists of the following:

I have several thousand companies that provide emergency response vehicles to a disaster. Collectively, they provide over 30 different vehicle types. We track each vehicle type and the number of that particular vehicle type available. Additionally, the companies are divided into three separate company types and their associated resources are located in 1 of 4 different zones. I have already developed several different versions using formulas with varying degrees of success however, I know I can do this with a pivot table and in such a manner that it is easy to understand and efficient. I have already figured out how to pivot the information I need but am running up against problems with trying to label and display the monthly change. I am not stuck on any one method and am willing to completely throw out what I know about anything and start fresh if anyone has any suggestions of better ways to report this information. Below is a selection of what I currently have developed along with my actual pivot table structure.
