    Proportional Shapes for different values

    Hello there,

I was wondering if there is any way to do proportional shapes in excel given certain values. For example: I have these three numbers:
    • 292.7
    • 606.72
    • 899.42

(This last number is the sum of the other two)

Is there any possibility to do something like the picture I insert

This is just an example done with three random circles. But if given a certain reference number as a starting point I could do proportional circles given other values that would be great

    Thank you!

    Diego

    Hi,

    Does the attached help

change the yellow cells as appropriate. D2 sets the basic size for the first circle and the others are proportional by area.

Wow, yeah, that is what I meant. Thank you.

I need to get a hold of this procedure, how do you link the shapes to change everytime you hit the "size circle" that is amazing.

    Hi,

There's a macro that changes the size of the circles and the text therein.

    i.e.

Beautiful solution, thank you. Can you help me understand something? At D2 being 3, per your example, the size points calculate fine and the balls are sized logically. But increase D2 to 7 and the size points return incorrectly, ie. a bigger value returns a smaller size point and thus a smaller ball..?

    Hi,

Strictly speaking your post does not comply with Rule 2 of our ForumRULES. Do not post a question in the thread of another member -- start your own thread.

If you feel an existing thread is particularly relevant to your need, provide a link to the other thread in your new thread.

Old threads are often only monitored by the original participants. New threads not only open you up to all possible participants again, they typically get faster response, too.

However on this occasion given my response below I'll let it pass. If you still feel there is still a problem then please start your own thread and link it to this.

I don't find the behaviour you describe. You can see in the attached that I've changed D2 to 9 and the circles have scaled accordingly. If D2 is increased so to does E2 in direct proportion. If you still find it otherwise upload your workbook in your own thread as mentioned above
