I have created a dashboard in Excel 2007 and have several charts controlled by either a 'dropdown list' (combo box) or a 'tick box', (check box). As with most dashboards there are elements for viewing and those for user selection. To avoid losing elements by user mistakes I need to protect the charts but when doing so I can no longer use the dropdowns or tick boxes. How can I do this?
You can hide the charts on another worksheet and use the camera function to DISPLAY the charts with the tickboxes and dropdowns on the same sheet.

Thanks for the solution. Not one I had considered as I am using the workbook across a sharepoint system with a great number of controls. result anyway!
