Scatter Blotter with two sets of Data and combined X axis

    Hi,

I have the following data as an example:

    SET1
    X Y
    1.16 2.00
    2.18 2.33
    5.22 3.83

    and Also
    SET 2
    X2 Y2
    1.79 4.23
    3.79 5.82
    5.50 6.88

So I make a Scatter graph, works well, compares Set 1 vs Set 2 in the Scatter graph. BUT, it gives me counts on the X-axis for the X values. Not the actual value. for example SET 1, point 1 is (1,2.00) point 2 is (2, 2.33) etc, and in SET 2 point 1 is (1, 4.23) point 2 is (2, 5.82)
it doesn't give me the correct X points on the graph! Can someone help with this?

    Best,
    Nituz

Data/Select data and se;ect the X and Y data separately. If you're still stuck...

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? Please don't attach a picture of one.

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

    Thanks Glenn,

as I have a bit of sensitive data, I cant send it over. But I started going back to Data/select data and used =value() . And now the X-axis values comes up as they should.

    Thanks.

    best,
    Nituz
