"Autofill" cells using data from another worksheet

I work in produce, and I am building a tracker to see what we are throwing away (salvaging) in order to see what products we should be ordering as much of.
However, we carry HUNDREDS of types of produce-just not all at the same time.
On the attached workbook, the REFERENCE TAB worksheet will eventually contain a comprehensive list of all the produce items we carry (and have carried for the past 18 months). The INPUTS tab has several columns, but the one I am most interested in is labeled "Item."

What I would like to be able to do is type the name of the produce into the cells under "item," and as I type there would be an auto-complete type function (that refers to the list of produce on the reference tab). AN example would be "APPLE." I would type the word apple, and there would be a drop down list of sorts--but only listing those items from the REFERENCE tab that start with APPLE, then as I type more my options would be pared down. I know that there HAS to be something out there, or someone out there, who understands what I am asking AND can help!

Additionally--I am not worried about manually entering the prices as these change on a weekly basis.

    HELP!

**DISCLAIMER: The attached spreadsheet DOES NOT have all the produce we carry. I just entered a limited variety in order to test different methods of making it do what I want it to do.

Hi and welcome to Excel Forum sgtpsychosis,

This is a really low tech suggestion.
    1) Move your 'Input' table down several thousand rows,
    2) Select the cell just above your table in table and reference it to the last item on the 'Reference Data' sheet, (as in ='Reference Data'!B63)
    3) Press the Ctrl and up arrow keys,
    4) Select Fill > Up from the Home tab, (You may want to delete the cells that display #REF)
    5) Select the cell below 'Date' on the 'Input' tab,
    6) Select Freeze Panes > Freeze Panes from the View tab.
Test by typing apr in the cell below 'Item' in the 'Input' table.

Believe it or not, I was actually looking for the high-tech solution, and for some reason my mind is STILL insisting on doing this with multiple formulae!
Your timely response is quite appreciated, and I guess I've got some typing to do!
